Passions to be Invoked...

_ALTdell, or Pete is an artist with focus on reference and form. His work though simple is a form of expression that speaks to anyone with the knowledge and references of understanding to listen. The effective form of creation that Pete has discovered is striking, beautiful but most of all a reference to a piece of knowledge. The knowledge can seem fragmented but that’s just it, the fragmentation of a reference superimposed over the flashing lights of a thousand unseen ideas.
Recently pete has decided to move into an age old form of creation the colorization of artist work he looks up to and admires. One example of this new found way of expressing himself can be found on the BAE and is described by Pete as follows;
Authentic digital coloring over individual manga panel Tatsumaki vs. Psykos and Orochi from the hit anime, One Punch Man. Original maru pen linework by Yusuke Murata.
Now with all of this said, jump into his mind further and hear from the man himself.
What is your background in art and how did you get into art?
I’ve been a creative mind since a young age, and that alone has kept me close to art and expression my entire life. While manual drawing, painting, and sketching was aesthetic in its own right, what I have always been more appreciative of was digital artwork. There was something about the clean lines and precision of a digital piece that I just could never replicate with something hand drawn. As for the time being, I’m a student and freelance digital artist in the up and coming spaces of Cryptoart and NFT collectibles.
What artists inspire you most?
Artists who strive to get their audience thinking and engaged are my personal favorite. Ever since entering the cryptoart space, artists such as Robness, Max Osiris, Jay Delay, and others have been pushing forward a more creative and freedom-driven setting in the digital cryptoart space, so I guess you could say they inspire me the most currently.
Why do you create digital art?
I create my art for a few reasons. One of those reasons being the ability to express my inner emotion and passion through digital creation. What is more than just creating for expression is the fact that others could potentially find a certain interest in my work and for emotions and passions to be invoked within them as well as myself.
What is your process of creation?
Like many other creators, I usually only create a piece when the time's right and inspiration hits. This could come at literally any moment so I always try to stay prepared! Once I get going on a particular idea the process usually takes over in its own way, flowing through to a smooth finish. I’m always appreciating the process of my designs as I know it’s about the journey rather than the end result (even though the end result is important in its own right), usually listening to music on high and digital drawing using Adobe Illustrator, Procreate, ADdraw, etc.
Is there any meaning you want to get across with your artwork?
If there was one single feeling I would want to get through to someone viewing my work would be to stay open with your own personal style and projects and to always stay actively creative. I believe creativity is a key component in life and it should always be expressed to the fullest capacity.
Has digital art impacted your life?
Digital art has impacted my life in several ways up until this point! If it wasn’t for the digital art and cryptoart community, I wouldn’t be where I am currently in terms of my art style and production. Through the avenues of Twitter, Cent, many forums, and several cryptoart discord servers, I have met many great people and countless inspiring and creative geniuses that I consider friends. I’m thankful for where digital art has gotten me so far, and am beyond excited to see where it will take me!
Any advice for people thinking about making art?
Sometimes the hardest part is getting your ideas out onto a medium, which has always been the case for me. Once I was finally able to find my style and create in the way that I truly wanted, everything came together. It is under this pretense that I urge everyone to give making some sort of art a try, because it could truly change your life for the better!
Anything else you would like to add?
As previously stated, it’s looking extremely promising in terms of the cryptoart space and digital art NFTs and I’m grateful to be here at the start of it all! Sites such as the BAE and Rarible are pioneering in the field of digital art creation and exchange and I'm eager to see how things come together through the remainder of the year.
